The Weeknd has been announced as a performer at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

As I suspected allll along, Kanye West and The Weeknd collaborated on Beauty Behind The Madness. (And now we know Ed Sheeran wasn’t completely full of shit.) At an appearance last night, The Weeknd played a preview of a song which includes the chorus “Go tell your friends about it” — so it’s safe to say it’s track 3 off the LP, “Tell Your Friends” — and Kanye pal Travi$ Scott says West produced it.

Scott, along with some other attendees, posted video of the playback in the wee hours this morning (August 19), and the song certainly has that old-school soul vibe that Kanye made his name on earlier in his career, and his newer penchant for bringing in a stretched-out guitar solo near the end of tracks seems to be intact here. As for The Weeknd, he’s on some laid-back boasting throughout.
