JoJo: The Idolator Interview
JoJo's talks about her comeback, her Tringle and her upcoming new material.

We’ve finally reached the weekend, Idolator readers! The past few days were filled with major music moments, which kicked off with the 2015 Teen Choice Awards! Highlights included Britney Spears‘ sparkling outfit (which complemented her boobs, naturally) and performances from Little Mix and 5 Seconds Of Summer.

Spears is also thinking of ending her Las Vegas residency, while Kelly Clarkson announced she is pregnant with her second child. Zayn Malik threw shade at Little Mix and caught himself up in a brief Twitter feud with Calvin Harris about — who else? — Taylor Swift.

Lana Del Rey dropped a new Honeymoon track in the midst of her “High By The Beach” chart error, while Nick Jonas and JoJo finally released their new tunes — “Levels” and the tringle, respectively.

On our Idolator ends, we interviewed comeback queen JoJo and rising star Clairity, reviewed Carly Rae Jepsen‘s new album, premiered Paul Rey‘s “Good As Hell” videoDuran Duran‘s “What Are The Chances” track as well as MONOGEM‘s cover of The Weeknd‘s “Earned It“. Be sure to cast your vote on which tringle song you like best! Also click here for a chance to win passes to see and meet Carly Rae Jepsen at JetBlue’s Terminal 5 at JFK Airport.

And of course, our readers spoke their minds on the going-ons in the frantic music world. Read some of the best and shadiest comments below!

:: Jay gave some advice on Britney Spears May Reportedly End Her Las Vegas Residency: “I think she needs to end it and shift the focus back on the new album and doing promo, more performances at events, etc. ‘Britney Jean’ sold terribly and ‘Femme Fatale’ didn’t even crack one million in the US even with three hit singles. Being simply a big star isn’t always going to sell records anymore nowadays. i feel like she got too comfortable for a few years releasing an album and then going on tour so quickly, with a promo here and there. She needs to take her time and release a great album, get on talk shows, even maybe more TV guest appearances. I think it would be really great for her.”

:: PROF is #TeamKelly on Kelly Rowland Shares A Snippet Of New Music On Instagram: “Love it! All of the snippets that she has shared on her twitter and instagram have been stuck in my head for weeks. I don’t think that she has not lived up to her promise, but more so, I think that the labels that she was under have not lived up to their promise of molding her into the mega star we all know that she can be. Stars are born, but without the right exposure and just enough controversy (people this day and age just love drama and the right mix of weirdness) a star can go unoticed.”

:: Ice Warrior shared thoughts on Zayn Malik & Calvin Harris Spark A Quick (& Random) Twitter Beef: “This guy is going down the exact same route that Bieber did, thinking that he’s entitled to anything that pops into his head. It’s all so predictable: from here, the escapades just get worse, then some revelation occurs and he posts some vague apology on social media which recycles the phrase ‘I was young and stupid, I didn’t know any better.’ Grow up Zayn, you’re so much better than this”

:: James had this brilliant thought on Ryan Adams Done Recording Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Cover Album: Listen To “Style” & “Blank Space”: “How funny would it be if he won album of the year and she didn’t”

:: Shanna Hollingworth had this to say on Is “Another Lonely Night” The Next Single From Adam Lambert’s ‘The Original High’?: “That’s what I was thinking. It’s not my fave song on the album but it would make a fantastic video and it’s a great pop song, and publicity is what is needed right now. Good pop music that will blow up the stations will give him that. I just hope The Original High and The Light also make it on as singles, or at least The Original High does”

:: Tuyonkah isn’t a big fan of this Janet era on Janet Jackson Releases New Snippet & Confirms ‘Unbreakable’ LP Title: Listen: “Although it is more uptempo than the sleepy no sleep, I am hoping for a club banger and I guess it won’t be happening. I wish I can sell my concert tickets, since I am not too excited based on the 2 songs so far.”

:: Lastly, Alex Wang made us giggle on One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” Drops 23 Positions In Its Second Week On Singles Chart: “I didn’t even know they had a new single until I read this article.”
