Watch the One Direction dudes head into space.

The might and emotional fortitude of all Directioners was tested on Monday (August 24) when reports emerged that One Direction would be going on hiatus so that the four remaining members could pursue solo projects. In a move that is completely unrelated to Zayn Malik‘s recent split for solo pastures, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan have decided to move forward with album five, but rather than tour it they’ll be taking a break and doing their own thing for a bit.

And now Horan and Tomlinson have addressed the news on Twitter, reassuring fans that this does not spell the demise of 1D.

“We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year,” Horan wrote. (The original reports pegged March as the start date for the 1D break.)

Tomlinson added, “It’s just a break :) we’re not going anywhere !!”
