The Weeknd just released his sinister video for the Kanye West-produced “Tell Your Friends,” but it’s his “Can’t Feel My Face” video from last month that’s the subject of a minor controversy. Director Mitch Moore took to Instagram Monday night (August 25), saying the Grant Singer-directed visual has “uncanny” similarities to an unreleased visual Moore helmed for Majical Cloudz.

To prove his point, he uploaded side-by-side clips from the videos, with Shania Twain‘s “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” soundtracking the display. Moore says private uploads of the Majical Cloudz video were shared for feedback purposes before the project was scrapped, and he thinks someone behind “Can’t Feel My Face” saw those clips.

“The resemblance is too uncanny,” he wrote on Instagram, before joking, “My mind is a mansion of creativity, so this petty theft is nbd to me. BUT I’M STILL CALLING THE POLICE!! 😜😜😜😜”

Check out the evidence below, which, if you ask me, just shows all the visual tropes of a standard lounge singer scene. But if the singer in that Majical Cloudz vid ultimately bursts into flames, then Moore might be onto something.
