Fetty Wap’s Album Cover Encourages Us All To Celebrate, Rather Than Be Ashamed Of, Our Flaws

With his hand covering the eye he can see out of while the eye he lost following a childhood accident is on full display, the image of Fetty Wap on the cover of his debut album finds the breakout rapper of 2015 staying humble. The New Jersey MC made the cover art reveal on Twitter last night, while noting that his LP will arrive in just one month, on September 25.

It’s been a monumental past few months for Fetty, as he’s sent a trio of singles into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 — that would be spring/summer smash “Trap Queen,” along with “679” and “My Way” — while a fourth one track, “Again,” also hit the Top 40.

In addition to tweeting out the striking album art last night, Fetty Wap also posted a video where he’s shown both backstage and on stage during a concert in Kansas City, Missouri, addressing fans and making reference to his two kids. The final shot in the clip is the cover of his upcoming album.

In a business where all promotional artwork is Photoshopped to “perfection,” it’s refreshing to see an artist keeping it real, in ever sense of the term. We should all take the that lead more often.
