OMI Announces Debut ‘Me 4 U’ Album: Listen To His New “Hula Hoop” Single

After making a name for himself in his native Jamaica, OMI has gained massive strides internationally — thanks to inescapable summer jam, “Cheerleader.” The track, which has been covered by artists like Nick Jonas and Pentatonix, has recently secured its No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100. So what is one to do in order to keep the momentum going? Release another single, of course (just ask fellow chart ruler Fetty Wap)!

OMI’s follow-up tune, titled “Hula Hoop,” continues that ubiquitous saxophone trend along with bouncy synths and a chorus that will most likely get stuck in everyone’s head. “Round and round your loving winds me up / Like a hula hoop,” the singer (whose real name is Omar Samuel Pasley) croons to his lady.

Along with the new tune, OMI is gearing to release his debut album — Me 4 U. Look out for it on October 16 via Ultra/Louder Than Life/Columbia Records.
