Enrique Iglesias And Nicky Jam Pass The Audition In Their “El Perdón (Forgiveness)” Video: Watch
Enrique Iglesias and Nicky Jam’s “El Perdón” has a life of its own. After blowing up in the Spanish-speaking world and reaching number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (not to mention racking up 230 million YouTube views), the moody collaboration was rerecorded in English. It’s a formula that has worked brilliantly for the Latin superstar in the past — most recently with 2014 smash “Bailando,” which sold eight million downloads worldwide.
Now titled “Forgiveness,” the track survives the transition from Spanish into English seamlessly. “I heard you’re doing better without me, girl this is driving me crazy,” Enrique croons forlornly. Nicky then shares his break-up story over hip-swinging reggaeton beats: “She let go. She killed me when she said it was over.” It’s all a little dramatic, which makes the video’s theatre theme a surprisingly good fit. Watch the heartthrobs audition for a play up top.
