:: Mark is digging Miley’s new album on Miley Cyrus Dropped Her New Album For Free: Stream ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’: “This is a terrific piece of work. Messy–sure. Perfect–no. But it is weird, and wonderful, and sometimes beautiful. It doesn’t seem to be trying too hard, but just is…. What happens when a pop star really really abandons the need for a hit or sales. (This is something that Artpop could have been.) I dig it. Go Miley.”

:: CA_Dreamin had this to say on The 2015 Video Music Awards Score Lowest Ratings In MTV History: “Three Words: LACK. OF. TALENT. The VMAs have never been anything more than a strokefest for Top 40 stars of the 90’s/2000s, but these last few years they’ve truly proved how far they’ve fallen. You can’t blame the music video (though you CAN blame Mtv for what it’s become), all you can do is laugh at the joke we call American “talent” today. There were only 2 points of actual talent that showed on that stage… Tori Kelly. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. the rest was an utter joke. The ratings are just the laughable truth. That was the last VMA showing i’ll watch.”

:: Roma Jenco got Lena Dunham together on Lena Dunham Has Some Reservations About Justin Bieber’s New Single “What Do You Mean?”: “If anyone should know about rape culture it’s Dunham. In the case of Bieber’s song, he is very clearly talking about miscommunication and general relationship confusion, NOT issues of consent, and is most certainly not promoting rape culture. It’s a mystery how someone as expensively educated as Ms. Dunham can misread the ENTIRE context of “What Do You Mean?” but then Dunham does have a history of allowing herself the freedom to inflict her immorality on everyone else, while calling it art, and slamming everyone else for their artistic expression. And, for the record Dunham, playing coy on Instagram because no-one agrees with you isn’t going to cut it.”

:: James Fluker had the #sadz on Avril Lavigne & Chad Kroeger Announce Separation After Two Years Of Marriage: “True love is actually dead. If Chavril can’t make it, what hope is there for the rest of us?”

:: Musick Lova said this on Azealia Banks Calls Out Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift & Miley Cyrus For Making “Basic Ass Music”: “Well some of Nicki’s songs have left over katy perry hooks in them (literally) And no she isn’t a racist. You just read the tweets you want to and not the other ones. You just beileve what the white media tells you and follow along. If you think Azealia is a racist but Iggy isn’t, you’re a blind, fooled fool. In a side not : where mixtape nicki at? Thr night is still young, anaconda, trini dem girls pop stuff is dead and done.”

:: Jay shared a great point on Pink Shades Trashy, Uninspiring MTV VMAs (True Tea, Though), Demi Lovato Responds: “I think its true though…music has really just disintegrated into being so trashy and uninspiring overall. Not just the VMA’s. Let’s face it, an artist like Demi, who has inspired many younger people feels the need to suddenly be like every other pop star. She was better when she was more covered up, I’m sorry. Now she’s just using her newfound sex appeal. I think you can be sexy without having to show skin, and people forget that because they want a hit record and to sell albums. Sadly, being provocative (even a little bit) gets people to pay attention more. Suddenly you become interesting. Its sad.”

:: Lastly, Ice Warrior had this spot-on quip on MTV Video Music Awards 2015 Recap: Nicki Vs. Miley, Kanye For President & Miley’s Nipple: “Do these awards prove anything other than the fact that the people have Internet access?”
