REPORT: Kylie Minogue Recorded A Cover Of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” With Sister Dannii
Too good to be true? The Mirror reports that Kylie Minogue’s disco-flavored seasonal offering boasts a collaboration with younger sister/fellow pop siren Dannii Minogue. According to the article: “The pop siblings met up for secret recording sessions last month… and we hear they nailed a few Xmas covers – including Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’, but Kylie will wait to decide which song she’ll use.” Either way, the holidays just got a whole lot camper!
If the duet eventuates, it will be the first time Kylie and Dannii have joined forces since 2008 when they covered ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All” for the Beautiful People soundtrack. As such, it would be something of an event in their key markets (ie. Australia and the UK) and the choice of material is spot on. “Last Christmas” is a modern Xmas classic (it has sold 1.7 million copies in the UK alone) and lends itself to a fabulous disco makeover.
