The Chain Gang Of 1974 Puts His Spin On Mackintosh Braun’s “Never Give In”: Idolator Premiere

Among the midst of heavyweight pop stars that Idolator typically covers, we occasionally stumble upon some pretty awesome musical gems that emerge from the usual realm. The latest comes from Mackintosh Braun, whose “Never Give In” tune has been remixed by The Chain Gang of 1974 — which we are premiering on Idolator today (September 9)!

The original track (off their Arcadia LP released in June) is a charming synth-pop tune, but the California indietronica DJ amplifies the groove and takes it to a fuzzier, and dancier level. The bright piano tinks, frizzed synths and punching drum patterns make the remix very suitable for many dance floors!

Ben Braun from the band has this to say about the collaboration:
When we we’re thinking of people who we wanted to approach about remixes, Chain Gang of 1974 was right at the top of the list. We love his records and thought that he’d be able to take the pop sensibilities of this song and add his spin to it. When we reached out to Kamtin he was all about it and we love the direction he took it in, brings a whole new energy out of the song. Enjoy and press repeat!
