Kristian Nairn (AKA Hodor From ‘Game Of Thrones’) Teams Up With Salt Ashes On “4 Love”: Premiere

It’s the weirdest thing, but there’s arguably no show currently on television with a bigger music pedigree than Game Of Thrones. There have been two official GoT rap mixtapes, The National recorded a Thrones cover, Coldplay made a fake musical about it, members of Sigur Rós and Mastodon appeared on the series and several of the show’s stars are pop musicians on the side. There’s Grey Worm, who moonlights as singer Raleigh Ritchie; there’s Bronn, portrayed by a former ’80s cheeze-pop purveyor; and perhaps most famously there’s Kristian Nairn, who plays Hodor and is a pretty well-known DJ in his native Britain.

Nairn has already performed live sets (check out the awesome Rave Of Thrones concert poster) and this summer released his debut single. Now we’re premiering the follow-up, “4 Love.” His Hodor character only knows how to say one word — his name — so it’s no surprise that he’s snagged Salt Ashes for vocal duties here. The song’s shimmering house loops aren’t too far from her synth-pop wheelhouse, and we’re totally digging the Madonna vibes she gives off in the verses.
