It has been almost two months since Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away at the age of 22. Her father, Bobby Brown, first issued a statement back in July. But now the entertainer is speaking publicly about his daughter’s passing for the first time.

Bobby, alongside wife Alicia Etheredge, will appear on the season two premiere of FOX’s The Real today (September 14), where he reveals to the daytime hosts his feelings since Bobbi’s death.

“We prayed and hoped for six months for something better to happen, but when God calls you, he calls you, and I’m pretty sure her mother had a part of that, like, ‘Come on, get her up here’ — in the best way possible. She was not comfortable by herself, I guess, and she just called my daughter with her,” Bobby said.

Bobbi Kristina was first hospitalized back in January after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta home. She was then moved to hospice care last month, and remained in a five-month long coma up until her tragic death.
