Drake & Future Tease Joint Project

Drake and Future are up to something. Something big, which is a given since they’re the two biggest names in hip-hop right now. For a couple weeks, there’s been chatter on the rap nets about a joint Future Hendrix-Drizzy mixtape. And Wednesday (September 16), both dudes hit social media to confirm/address the fact they are sitting on some big mystery collaboration.

First Drake posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram, with an emoji caption “⏳⌚️💎,” which roughly translates to “It’s only a matter of time before we drop a gem on ’em.”  Then Future tweeted “#FBGOVO,” combining his Freebandz Gang with Drake’s October’s Very Own crew. While they went a step short of confirming a full collaborative mixtape, the posts answered all the internet speculation about a team-up.

It’s worth noting that after his set at Made In America over Labor Day weekend, Future told the crowd he was dropping another album before the year is out. So we know he has at least a full-length’s worth of new music on the way — is this supposed joint tape with Drake the project he was talking about, or does he have something in the pipeline in addition to this mystery collab?

Only ⌚️ will tell.
