Sevyn Streeter unveils new project 'Shoulda Been There Pt. 1.' Find out more.

It’s been a big week for Sevyn Streeter. The R&B diva kicked it off by remixing Tory Lanez’s “Say It” (she wanted to give the female perspective) and now drops a video for Shoulda Been There Pt. 1 highlight “Boomerang.” The Hit-Boy assisted anthem is a raised middle-finger to an ex-lover. “You must have bumped your head cause you lost it,” the “It Won’t Stop” hitmaker declares. “Girl like me don’t come around too often.”

That wake-up-to-yourself sentiment is reflected in the stylish black-and-white video, which finds Sevyn busting out some choreography and generally looking gorgeous in downtown Los Angeles. It reminds me of Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation-era visuals with its slick, minimalist approach. “Boomerang” is the second single from EP Shoulda Been There Pt. 1 — a project to keep fans happy while she finishes up debut LP On The Verge. Watch up top.
