Brandon's 'Desired Effect' Reviewed
Pop music has been dull lately, though Brandon's latest is an exception.

Brandon Flowers did indeed bring about the desired effect when he thrilled his Saturday (September 26) night audience at Los Angeles venue The Wiltern by bringing one of his musical heroes, Neil Tennant, on stage for a pair of duets. Tennant first strummed an acoustic guitar for an intimate rendition of his 1987 Pet Shop Boys single “Rent.” Next he and Flowers did a complete 180 and tore through The Killers‘ upbeat anthem “Human” while bathed in red stage lights.

“Human,” along with The Killers’ full 2008 Day & Age album, was produced by British musician Stuart Price, who Tennant and his Pet Shop Boys partner Chris Lowe are currently recording their 13th studio album with.

“Looking forward to working with Stuart Price next week on the new album,” Tennant noted on September 1, on the PSBs’ official site. Over two weeks later, he said in an update, “The album sessions with Stuart Price are going very well.”
