Selena Gomez Ups The Tempo On “Me & The Rhythm”: Listen

Selena Gomez switches it up on “Me & The Rhythm” — the next countdown single from fifth LP Revival. After releasing a pair of mid-tempo gems (“Good For You” and “Same Old Love”), the 23-year-old opts for an upbeat dance-pop anthem. “When I move my body I don’t have to talk about none,” she coos over fluttery beats crafted by Swedish duo Mattman & Robin. “Let the chemicals do its stuff ’til the energy is too much.”

It’s an edgier twist on the (very good) electro-pop of 2013 LP Stars Dance and should find a lot of love among party jam-starved fans. “Me & The Rhythm” is expected to hit iTunes on October 2 — a week before the arrival of Revival on October 9. The album is shaping up to be something of a blockbuster with “Good For You” recently becoming the diva’s highest-charting single to date (it peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100) and “Same Old Love” already wreaking havoc on pop radio.
