Rihanna Strikes A Pose For ‘Fader’: 8 Phucks-Free Portraits
Another day, another magazine with Rihanna on the cover. While the superstar’s eighth album is still M.I.A., her modeling career has never been hotter. The 27-year-old teams up with photographer Renata Raksha to take a bunch of semi-selfies for the 100th issue of Fader magazine (on newsstands October 27) and it’s a typically phucks-free affair. She looks like she just rolled out of bed — apart from the flawless hair and make-up — wearing slippers and a nightie ensemble for much of the shoot.
RiRi looks great, as usual, but the continual onslaught of promotion without having an actual product to promote is a little tiring. The “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer seems to be following the Beyonce circa 2013 model, where she went underground to complete and build anticipation for what became her visual album. That, however, felt like an authentic attempt to forge a new lane. This still feels like damage control after a couple of unexpected chart disappointments.
