Is Frank Ocean Working On A Dance Album?

July came and went with no Frank Ocean album, making this summer particularly cruel. Not much is known about the fate of the LP (and its accompanying magazine), believed to be titled Boys Don’t Cry. Save for a few web-based crumbs left behind by Ocean in recent months, the singer has been relatively dormant. But now there’s a name attached to the project: prolific remixer and dance producer SebastiAn.

The Ed Banger artist has remixed everyone from Daft Punk to The Kills, and now the Frenchman has “wrapped up production” on some tracks for Ocean, according to his label boss Busy P as reported by FACT magazine. There’s only one thing this can mean. French dance producer + French pianist = he’s making an album of massive Euro-house bangers. With so little information out there about the cagey singer’s Channel Orange follow-up, this doesn’t seem entirely out of the realm of possibility.
