Annie’s “Dadaday”: Hear The New Track From Her ‘Endless Vacation’ EP

Following the relaxed house of “Cara Mia,” Norwegian electro-pop queen Annie has premiered “Dadaday,” another low-key track off her Endless Vacation EP (out October 16 — that’s the awesome cassette-style artwork up top).

The Auto-Tuned vocals and quietly sproingy beat make it feel like some lost Y2K dance treasure, but there’s a blank-faced bittersweetness that advances it beyond “nostalgic novelty.”

“You’re spending time in a wonderful place but with someone who you don’t have anything to talk about with. But if you looked at the holiday photos everything would still look good on the surface,” Annie told The Fader about the song. “‘Dadaday’ is a sad song from this holiday… like you are left alone in the hotel disco.”

It was produced by Richard X, Jim Eliot and Stefan Storm. Give it a listen below.
