CAPPA’s “Other Girls”: Idolator Song Premiere

CAPPA has been not-so-quietly building up a solid foundation of electro-pop tunes, starting with singles like “Hush” and “In The Morning,” as well as her five-track, self-titled EP, released earlier this year.

But set all that aside, because the singer, whose real name is Carla Cappa, just dropped her best cut yet. With its moody synths, pulsating bass line and slick pop sheen — not to mention those handclaps! — “Other Girls” blows everything you might have heard so far from CAPPA out of the water.

“In my opinion, this is one of the most fun songs I’ve done so far,” CAPPA tells Idolator. “The lyrics are pretty honest; there’s not a lot of covering up the meaning behind them. When a relationship fails, it’s pretty easy to stick all the blame on yourself. This was about me just being like, ‘Wait, I’m kick-ass and I’m going after what I want in life and I want to own that. If you miss me down the line, well, I told you so’.”
