Duke Dumont Interview (2015)
We speak with the British hit-maker once more, about his new EP & the state of house.

Duke Dumont served up his Blasé Boys Club, Pt. 1 EP last week, but one cut by the Grammy-nominated British producer that likely won’t be seeing an official release anytime soon is his remix of Justin Bieber’s current smash, “What Do You Mean?” The single version has already topped charts in dozens of countries, including the US, UK, Australia and, naturally, Bieber’s homeland of Canada.

But while Dumont reworked JB’s three-and-a-half minute comeback tune into what sounds like a dreamy ambient mix — at least according to a short snippet that Duke himself posted online — it apparently didn’t make the cut. Why, exactly, you might be wondering? “He didn’t like it,” the producer wrote on Instagram.

Give a listen to about 16 seconds of Duke Dumont’s reinterpretation of “What Do You Mean” below.
