Giorgio Moroder & Britney Spears’ “Tom’s Diner” Cover Remixed By Leu

After striking out with Kylie Minogue and Sia collaborations (“Right Here, Right Now” and “Deja Vu”), legendary producer Giorgio Moroder is hoping it’s a case of third time lucky with his Britney Spears-assisted cover of “Tom’s Diner.” The hypnotic track gets an official digital release on Friday (October 9) along with a pair of remixes from Leu and Hibell. The latter surfaced online today and it’s well worth a listen (below).

The German DJ stays fairly true to Giorgio and Britney’s version, but thankfully removes the bizarre bridge. (You know, the part where the 75-year-old creepily says “sit yourself down, the fun here never ends — love is the drug that makes you want to drink until the morning after!”). “Tom’s Diner” is ridiculously catchy, so you can’t help but think this could connect with a little bit of promotion. Which, unfortunately, isn’t exactly Brit’s forte these days.
