Pop Perspective: Selena's "Me & The Rhythm"
Selena Gomez's "Me & The Rhythm" rated and reviewed by all Idolator editors.

Selena Gomez rocks a loose-fitting suit on the cover of Billboard. The message is clear — she has embraced her power and is now calling all the shots. That stance is also reflected in the accompanying interview. The “Good For You” hitmaker calls out haters and body-shamers alike. “I’m so fucking nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me,” the pop star laments at one stage. As for that bikini incident? “That was the first time I’d experienced body shaming like that. I believed some of the words they were saying.”

The 23-year-old reveals that she was actually undergoing chemotherapy for lupus during her alleged stint in rehab last year. “I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy,” Selena confides. “That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke… I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again.” The Revival diva’s full cover story is online tomorrow.
