Carly Rae Jepsen's 'E·MO·TION': Review
Find out what we had to say about Carly Rae Jepsen's third album 'E•MO•TION.'

It looks like Carly Rae Jepsen has settled on “Your Type” as the third single from critically acclaimed LP E•MO•TION. The 29-year-old shared a still from the video on Instagram this afternoon (October 12) with the caption “Something’s coming.” She also tagged director Gia Coppola. The pic doesn’t give too much away, but the Canadian pop star looks a slightly pressed — which would fit with the song’s theme of unrequited/obsessive love.

Despite a massive promotional push and near-universal praise, Carly Rae hasn’t had a lot of luck on the charts with singles from E•MO•TION. She might fare better with “Your Type.” Produced by Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, the catchy track is far less saccharine than “I Really Like You” and more accessible than the alt-pop leaning “Run Away With Me.” I know the “Call Me Maybe” hitmaker is embracing life as an an edgy underground diva, but it would be really nice to hear her on the radio again.
