After a few months spent keeping a low profile, Jessie Ware has all of a sudden emerged on two new songs this week. First we heard her cover of the Cinderella classic “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes,” and now she appears on Cool Uncle‘s retro “Break Away.”

Who the hell is Cool Uncle? It’s a new duo with old origins, comprising Jack Splash, a producer who has worked with Kendrick Lamar and Alicia Keys, and soul singer Bobby Caldwell, who will always be known to rap fans of a certain age as the voice on Common‘s “The Light.”

A few years ago, Ware covered Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love,” and here she joins him with a hushed verse on the gently bouncing soul track. Hear it below.

“Break Away” is off Cool Uncle’s self-titled debut, out November 13.
