Brayton Bowman’s Slick “Bieber’s Hotline” Mashup: Idolator Premiere
Justin Bieber‘s “What Do You Mean?” and Drake‘s “Hotline Bling” are two of the biggest singles of the moment (and of their careers), so it was only a matter of time until the massive tunes were covered. Gwen Stefani chose Drake’s tune during a karaoke session on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, but today (October 27) we are premiering Brayton Bowman‘s official mashup of the two songs.
Stripping away the dance and cha cha vibes of the original songs, the singer gives it a refreshing punch of soul that is flecked with electronic synths laid underneath emotive, full-bodied vocals. The end result is an unexpectedly sexy romp that will have you grooving at any party this mashup is spun.
Along with covering popular songs, Brayton released the solid The Update EP back in August. Here’s what he shared with us about his latest music plans:
“Music for the third EP is basically finished. Just fleshing out these interlude ideas I have in my head right now, starting to mix and master everything. The next project is called ’22 Minutes’ & is as the title suggests 22 minutes long. Sort of a minute for every year I been breathing. It’s a collection of my favorite tunes I’ve written in the past few months and some new ones I’m so excited about I low key feel like a little school girl listening to them. I’m making myself wait for 2016 to put out the new material though, new year new music vibes. Tryna give you interlude moments, bigger songs than I ever have before & errrrrything you could possibly need. Stay tuned X”
