Carly Rae Jepsen first teased her “Your Type” video early last month with a hazy photo still, and today (November 3) the transformative visual has now arrived.

The video plays out as a subdued Cinderella story, with a male narrator opening up the “bedtime fairytale story with this line: “There was once a girl…no, a young woman. But not just any young woman. This one was special.”

Despite “Your Type” being a song about unrequited love, the video decides to focus on Carly’s unrequited dream of becoming a major star. She plays a character who works as a ticket holder at the fictional neon-colored Escandalosos bar, but longs to be on the stage herself. So for one night only, the singer transforms from the everyday girl to a shimmering pop starlet who rules the crowd.

E·MO·TION was released on August 21 via Schoolboy Records/Interscope and September 25 in the UK. It features “I Really Like You,” “Run Away With Me,” “All That”and the ’80s-inspired title track. Along with promoting her album, Carly is gearing up for her Gimmie Love Tour and starring in FOX’s Grease: Live musical.
