Amy Winehouse Biopic In The Works
If the tragic Amy Winehouse documentary Amy left you yearning for a bigger look into the late singer’s life, then you’ll be excited to hear a Winehouse biopic is in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Irish filmmaker Kristen Sheridan (August Rush) will write and direct the movie, simply titled Amy Winehouse. Noomi Rapace, who rose to fame playing Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo films, is in talks to portray the British singer.
In addition, producers are reportedly negotiating with Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse to secure rights to his daughter’s music. Meanwhile, Mitch, who was opposed to the documentary, recently said he’s working on his own film about Amy.
