Chris Martin talks how Coldplay's new album took shape after recording with Beyonce.

On November 13, Coldplay paid respect to the lives lost during the terrorist attacks in Paris, France, that killed nearly 130 people. The band had just postponed their TIDAL livestream concert in Los Angeles for that same night, “out of respect for those affected,” according to a statement. But for those who were already on their way, Coldplay played a short, intimate set that began with a faithful cover of John Lennon‘s “Imagine.”

Coldplay wasn’t the only act who have expressed their condolences, in light of news that one attack in particular targeted concertgoers at a sold-out Eagles of Death Metal concert. In addition to the outpouring of support on social media, Bono spoke out after U2 postponed two concerts in Paris that were scheduled for this weekend, including one that was to be broadcast live as an HBO special.

“Our first thoughts, at this point, are with Eagles of Death Metal,” the frontman said on Ireland radio station RTÉ 2fm. “If you think about it, the majority of victims last night are music fans.”

All tickets to Coldplay’s livestream concert will be honored at the rescheduled show, with details to follow.
