Carly Rae Jepsen Is Back In The Studio Working On New Music
Carly Rae Jepsen is working on new music. “Heading back to NYC to record a very special song today,” the Canadian pop diva tweeted this afternoon. “I could not be more excited about this one.” The 29-year-old didn’t clarify if she was recording new material for a re-release of third LP E•MO•TION (I certainly wouldn’t complain about getting a super deluxe edition) or a different project altogether, but the former seems more likely at this point.
After being stereotyped as the queen of bubblegum pop with 2012 mega-hit “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae reemerged this year with an edgier, indie-leaning new sound. E•MO•TION hasn’t produced any big hits yet (I’m haven’t given up on the gorgeous “Your Type”), the album has been warmly embraced by critics and fans alike. Check out the pop chameleon’s tweet below.
