Elle King turns the tables in raunchy, tongue-in-cheek "Ex's & Oh's" video.

After building a loyal online following with quirky DIY pop anthems like “Little Bandit” and “Arnold Palmer,” The HEYDAZE independently released their debut EP over the summer. The self-titled set delivered viral hit “Dumb” and caught the attention of Island Records. The college friends inked a deal in October and decided to record an acoustic version of Elle King’s breakthrough hit to keep the buzz building before releasing new material of their own.

“We wanted to cover ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ because it’s a badass sexual bluesy song and we are badass sexual bluesy guys,” The HEYDAZE explain. They tinker with the lyrics (“I had a girl turn me into a man, showed me all the things that I didn’t understand”) to put a male spin on the song, which works surprisingly well thanks to a clever arrangement and Jesse Fink’s smoky vocal. We’re excited to premiere the New York-bred band’s version, which was filmed at YouTube Space LA, below.
