Justin Timberlake’s duet with Chris Stapleton was the undisputed highlight of the 2015 Country Music Awards. The songs they performed (“Tennessee Whiskey” and “Drink You Away”) jumped into the top 10 on iTunes, while the country star’s debut LP Traveller shot straight to number one on the Billboard 200. The experience obviously left a huge impression on JT because he’s now considering recording a country album with long-time collaborator Timbaland.

“We are country! He’s from Tennessee, I’ve from Virginia,” the producer told TMZ. “It’s only right that we try to tap into what, you know, we was raised in. We was raised in the country, to me that’s who we are.” When asked if he was serious about the project, Timbaland replied: “I gotta tap into country. I’m already posted up in Nashville, I got a little spot in Nashville. That’s something I want to do.” Watch his interview below.
