Coldplay Drops CGI “Adventure Of A Lifetime” Video: Watch
At first, Coldplay‘s CGI “Adventure of a Lifetime” video appears to be a remake of that opening scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey, as it begins with apes sitting at a clearing inside a lush rainforest, doing nothing. But there isn’t a fight to the death. Instead, one ape digs up a portable Beats by Dre Pill speaker playing the uplifting A Head Full of Dreams single. Another, with the same blue eyes as Chris Martin, sings the lyrics. Then a whole bunch of them dance as if doing the choreography for a Michael Jackson video. The healing powers of Bluetooth!
Coldplay’s “Adventure of a Lifetime” video, directed by Mat Watercross, took six months to make. According to a press release, Chris had bumped into Andy Serkis, the motion capture actor who plays Gollum in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. From there, the two of them also worked with animators Mathematic and motion capture artists Imaginarium to make this video happen. Watch below, then listen to snippets of each A Head Full of Dreams track here.
