The cover performances is what I look forward to the most during BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, and the program’s latest one does not disappoint. This time around, Years & Years performed a mashup of Katy Perry‘s “Dark Horse” and Drake‘s “Hotline Bling.”
Dubbed “Dark Horse Bling,” frontman Olly Alexander used his delicate vocals to create a downtempo vibe separate from the original tracks while members Mikey and Emre provided the wobbling electronic beats.
Years & Years’ Communion LP dropped on July 10 via Polydor Records. The record features tunes like “Foundation,” “Take Shelter,”“King,” “Eyes Shut,” “Memo,” “Worship” and “Shine.” Get into the electro-pop trio’s “Dark Horse Bling” mashup below.
