Unreleased Aaliyah Song To Appear On Timbaland’s ‘King Stays King’ Mixtape

Timbaland has been talking up his forthcoming album Textbook Timbo (f.k.a. Opera Noir) for a while now, and he says it’ll be out in early 2016. But first he’s going to release a stopgap freebie on Christmas Day. The legendary producer just announced his King Stays King mixtape, which features an unreleased Aaliyah song. That’s exciting, but also frustrating because it reminds us of all that back-and-forth about a full LP of unheard Aaliyah material that will most likely never see the light of day.

The 16-track affair also has guest spots from Young Thug (on “Didn’t Do It”) and Rich Homie Quan, and we’re downright giddy about the prospect of Thugger unleashing on one of Timbo’s syncopated synthetica beats.

King Stays King will be available at MyMixtapez on December 25. Check out the artwork below.
