Star Wars: The Force Awakens raked in $120.5 million during its U.S. theatrical premiere this week. Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian reminds us all of how the sci-fi franchise has long brought people together.

Yesterday (December 18) on her official app, she told the story of how she and Kanye West connected in 2008 at Jim Henson’s Muppet Workshop. ‘Ye and rapper Rhymefest were filming the pilot for their show Alligator Boots — “a hip-hop Muppets show,” according to co-creator Daniel Kellison (Late Show with David Letterman, Crank Yankers).

Kim dressed as Princess Leia, while Kanye dressed as a Stormtrooper. “We had met before this project (back in 2003), but I would say this is when we first really connected,” she says.

Below, see an amazing throwback photo and watch the (NSFW, though because of the puppets) behind-the-scenes making of Alligator Boots — or, how Star Wars brought Kim and Kanye together.
