Justin Timberlake Is Dropping New Music Later This Year

Justin Timberlake has new tunes in store for 2016. Temper your excitement slightly, though, because it’s for an animated movie. In addition to voicing the character Branch in the DreamWorks film Trolls, Timberlake has signed on as executive music producer. In that role, he’ll curate the movie’s music, as well as write and perform original material for the soundtrack.

“I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event [and] couldn’t be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks’ Trolls,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

Trolls hits theaters November 4, so expect some of his music to be released around then. This will be Timberlake’s first new material since releasing the somewhat disappointing second volume of The 20/20 Experience back in September 2013.
