Jordan Smith is bringing out the big guns for his debut LP. “I am happy to tell you that I have already been working in the studio with the legendary David Foster on my first album,” the 22-year-old, who recently won season nine of The Voice, told fans on Facebook. “If you’re familiar with David’s previous work, you know how huge if a deal this partnership is!” He isn’t exaggerating. The songwriter/producer’s discography includes Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand’s “Tell Him” and Madonna’s “You’ll See.”

The rising star had another piece of news. “David and I will be taking a break from recording just long enough to perform together tomorrow night at the People’s Choice Awards! Be sure to tune in tomorrow night at 9pm EST on CBS.” Jordan landed seven hits on the Billboard Hot 100 during his stint on The Voice, which means that expectations are high for his debut. Could he be the show’s first real break-out star? Revist his cover of “Somebody To Love” below.
