Gwen Stefani ushers in the new year with an electro remix of current hit “Used To Love You.” The J.R. Rotem-produced ballad has been overhauled by British/Australian duo MAIZE, who memorably deconstructed Marina And The Diamonds’ “Blue.” They do a great job of making the track club ready without completely destroying the tone and sentiment of the original version, which recently went top 20 on pop radio.

“Used To Love You” is the first taste of the No Doubt singer’s long-overdue third LP. (She revealed that 2014 singles “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark The Fire” didn’t make the cut). The project is slowly coming together with Gwen going on a writing spree. “You know what’s weird about this writing that I’ve been doing lately is I was so blocked for so long,” the 46-year-old said in a recent interview. “And all of a sudden I feel like there’s a channel that opened up. I think I have 20 songs — I’ve written them in less than two months.”
