The stars came out for Linda Perry last night (January 5) in L.A., showing up for a celebration of her Miley Cyrus song from Freeheld, “Hands Of Love,” in the hopes of getting it an Oscar nomination. As we mentioned earlier today, Courtney Love was there to cover Radiohead‘s “Creep,” but she wasn’t the only performer. Christina Aguilera, who of course worked with Perry on “Beautiful,” serenaded the crowd of about 150 with a cover of John Lennon‘s “Mother.”

Xtina gave the 1970 John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band song a hefty dose of melismatic stank, impressively turning it into more of a vocal workout than an emotional one. Watch the performance below.
