The 15 Best Albums Of 2015
From Grimes to Lana Del Rey, we select our 15 favorite albums of the year.

When it comes to the top album and single sales of 2015, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Adele‘s 25 and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars“Uptown Funk” ruled. After all, 25 has made headlines since its release — not the least of which for having a record-breaking three separate weeks where it sold at least a million copies. And “Uptown Funk” was the song that spent the most weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 last year (14 total, between January and April).

Altogether, 25 sold 7.44 million copies between its release on November 20 and December 31. Trailing in a distant second place is Taylor Swift‘s 2014 album 1989, which sold another 1.9 million copies last year.

With songs, “Uptown Funk” racked up 5.5 million paid downloads, while Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud” was the runner-up with 3.9 million.

Below are the breakdowns of who sold what, as calculated by Nielsen and reported by Billboard.
