The cover performances is what I look forward to the most during BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, and the program’s latest one does not disappoint. This time around, Craig David covered Justin Bieber‘s “Love Yourself.”

The UK singer puts his signature R&B/garage twist to the acoustic Purpose track, as David transforms it into a sparkling club groove (topped with a fiery rap verse) that will have you instantly bopping your head to the melodic beat. Along with “Love Yourself,” he also performed an acoustic rendition of his latest single “When The Bassline Drops” with Big Narstie.

Back in September, Craig revealed that he would like to work with Bieber, who sampled his “Fill Me In” hit on Recovery” off 2013’s Journals. He is gearing up to release his sixth studio LP sometime this year. In the meantime, get into David’s “Love Yourself” cover up top, and catch his “When The Bassline Drops” performance below.
