Kiiara’s “Say Anymore” Is Y2K-Pop Bliss: Listen

Kiiara has yet to release a dud, and as far as I can tell she’s been keeping a pretty low profile (save for an Apple Watch ad) and just releasing (good) songs first and foremost. This is a pretty remarkable achievement for a new act in 2015/16. The latest gem to add to her streak is “Say Anymore,” produced by the always reliable Felix Snow.

Her preference for twitchy, choppy vocals and bendy electronics is intact, but this time she moves away from her usual future-pop framework. Instead, she opts for what passed as future-pop at the turn of the millennium, back when Timbaland ruled the airwaves and Destiny’s Child dealt syncopated sass and everything was described as “skittering.”

Hear the jittery R&B2K track below.
