2016 Grammy Nominations
Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd lead the 2016 Grammy nominations.

Sam Hunt was arguably the break-out star of 2015 — dropping four consecutive platinum singles from debut LP Montevallo and landing two Grammy nominations. The 31-year-old, who has pushed the boundaries of country music by sing/talking in songs (think of it as Nashville rapping), dropped by Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday night (January 6) to belt out his current top 30 hit “Break Up In A Small Town.” And nailed it.

The country singer’s music has a palpable pop sensibility and that really comes through on his latest million-seller. “Break Up In A Small Town” is comprised of spoken verses, which translate surprisingly well live, and a wicked chorus that promises crossover top 40 success further down the line. Don’t be surprised if Sam snatches that Best New Artist Grammy on February 15! Watch him in action up top.
