Adele‘s 25 has finally been bumped off the top of the iTunes album chart, and sadly it took the death of a pop culture icon to cause it to happen. David Bowie‘s studio LP Blackstar, released on just two days before his death on Sunday (January 10), has jumped to the #1 position on iTunes. The British musician’s career-spanning 2002 hits collection Best Of Bowie, is currently #2 at the digital retailer.

With Adele now down at #3 on iTunes, several of Bowie’s past offerings are now flying up the retailer’s chart, including the following:

* His seminal 1972 LP The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars is currently #4.

* 1971’s Hunky Dory, containing hits like “Changes” and “Life On Mars,” is at #6.

* 1998 collection The Best Of David Bowie 1969/1974 is at #11.

* The hugely successful, Nile Rodgers-produced Let’s Dance, from 1983, is #12.

* Bowie’s 1975 exploration into Philly soul, Young Americans, is at #17.

* 1973 glam rock classic Aladdin Sane is #18.

* The deluxe edition of 2014 retrospective Nothing Has Changed is #19.

* Yet another hits set, The Platinum Collection, is at #20.

* Low, a 1977 album and the first of Bowie’s so-called “Berlin Trilogy,” is #21.

* “Heroes”, also released in 1977 and the second of part of the “Berlin Trilogy,” is at #22.

* 2013’s The Next Day, the album Bowie released before Blackstar, is #23.

* Hits compilation Changesbowie, from 1990, is at #27.

* Bowie’s third LP, 1970’s The Man Who Sold The World, is currently sitting at #33.

* Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), a 1980 release with hits “Ashes To Ashes” and “Fashion,” is #38.

Meanwhile, as far as physical copies of David Bowie’s albums, the CD version of Blackstar is the top seller at Amazon, while the vinyl edition is at #2. At #5 is the Best Of Bowie set, while the Nothing Has Changed collection is #8.
