Our take on the loss of pop and rock's one-of-a-kind, unrivaled chameleon.

Nate Ruess‘ Grand Romantic album, may have fell under most people’s radar last year, but the singer continues to push the project. His latest effort is the video for “Take It Back,” which was released today (January 12).

Directed by Alistair Legrand (The Diabolical) and starring Patrick Fischler (Lost, Mad Men, VEEP), the cinematic clip finds the actor all alone in a karaoke room. The feeling of emptiness creeps up on you while watching the video, and the end result is pretty heartbreaking.

Ruess’ debut LP Grand Romantic was released on June 16 via Fueled By Ramen, and includes tracks like “Great Big Storm,” “Nothing Without Love” and “AhHa.” Watch his new “Take It Back” video up top.
