David Bowie broke Adele‘s single-day Vevo record on the day news of his death broke. Bowie’s Vevo catalog drew 51 million plays on January 11, according to Billboard. That’s the highest one-day total for any artist, breaking Adele’s previous high mark of 36 million streams on October 23, the day “Hello” premiered.

His new “Lazarus” video accounted for 11.1 million streams, the most of his 60+ online videos. This streaming stat comes just as Bowie is expected to topple Adele on the albums chart as well. Projections have his final album, Blackstar, debuting at #1, ending the seven-week streak of 25 at the top of the Billboard 200.
