Santigold Chills Out On “Chasing Shadows”: Watch

Santigold‘s debut album was one of the most entertaining releases of the aughts, one of a few key albums following M.I.A.‘s lead in the new era of melting pot-pop that blurred genres and cultures. Her second album was a more agitated affair, as far as I can remember, but from what we’ve heard of new full-length 99¢ she seems to be more chilled-out than ever.

Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij, who provided his Midas Touch on Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Warm Blood,” produced new track “Chasing Shadows.” The video was directed by Elliott Lester, and the most notable thing about it might be that Tidal finally built a player for non-subscribers.

99¢ is out February 26. Watch the new video below.
