Kelly Rowland Is Working On Her Fifth LP
Kelly Rowland revealed that she's already working on her fifth LP. Find out more.

Kelly Rowland’s fifth LP is slowly taking shape. “I’ve recorded 45 songs to be completely honest, the challenge for me right now is solidifying like exactly what sound that is, I have three different sounds on the table,” the 34-year-old told ABC Radio. “So I just want to know what that is and I feel like I have two albums… that’s not cool, I just need one.” Two of those three competing sounds are R&B and dance music.

“It’s definitely more R&B and to the core of even the dance music, it’s still soul and that’s the core of who I am, is my soul, and I always want that to come across,” she explains (somewhat confusingly). To be honest, it sounds like the typical Kelly Rowland formula. A sprinkling of upbeat dance anthems (think “Work,” “Commander” and “Down For Whatever”) and a bunch of mid-tempo R&B tracks for urban radio.

When can we expect to hear something new? As early as next month. “I’m actually gearing up for a video right now, actually in rehearsals for a video right now I’m excited about,” the Destiny’s Child diva reveals. “There’s going to be a video.” Kelly also let slip that the first single is upbeat, so hopefully she returns with a massive club banger. Her last LP Talk A Good Game was released in 2013.
