After going viral with covers of Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” and Adele’s “Hello” (he’s racked up over 5 million SoundCloud plays), Brandon Skeie drops his debut single today (January 22). And “So Bad” is actually very good! Produced by Dibs and Chris Lyon, the song finds the 22-year-old seriously lovesick. “You break the rules and I’m the fool that wants you badly no matter what you do,” he sings over tinkling keys. “I still love you madly with your every move.”

If you’re expecting a gut-wrenching piano ballad, think again. “So Bad” transforms into a punchy, hook-filled pop anthem as soon as the chorus arrives. Think Scissor Sisters meets Billy Joel. It’s an auspicious debut for the newcomer, who has already built a large following via social media. Don’t be surprised if he follows Troye Sivan and Shawn Mendes in making the leap from internet stardom to pop radio. We’re excited to premiere his debut single below.
